West of Duddon starts generating power offshore UK

West of Duddon starts generating power offshore UK

The first power has been generated from the West of Duddon Sands wind farm off the UK coast.

A total of 42 out of 108 turbines that make up the overall project have been installed so far and power from four turbines is being exported to the National Grid.

Once completed, the wind farm will have a total capacity of 389MW – enough to meet the annual electricity demands of around 280,000 households.
